18 Years In Tech; Today’s my birthday
I turn 29 today, and I’ve been doing some form of web development since the age 11. Kind of shocking.
I know my perception of the world has been defined by it and will give me the tools, and knowhow, that I hope will allow me to help shape the future in a big way.
I told myself 3 years ago, on the same day, that if my projects weren’t moving along at a good pace then I would stop all of my business ventures, and focus on my backup plans of being a full-time yoga instructor and offering Reiki to people, both to be able to connect and help people; I already did my intensive 200-hour Hatha yoga teacher training this past summer - got my Reiki Level 1 awhile ago too. I’ll still do more teacher training, though clearly not as much if I’m keeping busy with my projects.
So that leaves 1 year. I’m confident things within the next 3-6 months will start moving into the pace I foresaw / hoped for, though you never know what wrenches might get thrown at you.
So, like most other days, I headed over to AVC.com for some good reading, learning, and see what brilliant things current and future friends have to say.
Fred continued a conversation on mobile usage increasing, and starting to surpass web usage in certain areas. This lead me to the following thoughts that I’ll leave you all with;
The ease and accessibility of mobile really is disrupting the methods the mind has used for tens of thousands/millions of years; It’s great for productivity and efficiency, though it has the affect of being able to keep you in your mind, and out of your body.
This is why people being healthy, mentally and physically, and literally grounding themselves on a regular basis is more important than ever before.
It’s my birthday today, so I may not be posting more than this today - though I wanted to share this text, related to groundedness, by a Dalai Lama that I have hanging in my healing room;
“Never Give Up”
Never give up
No matter what is going on
Never give up
Develop the heart
Too much energy in your country
Is spent developing the mind
Instead of the heart
Develop the heart
Be compassionate
Not just with your friends
But with everyone
Be compassionate
Work for peace
In your heart
And in the world
Work for peace
And I say again
Never give up
No matter what is going on around you
Never give up

Enjoy your tech, just take care of your body/mind/soul too. :)
